Optical windows are glass components with polished faces that are relatively parallel. They are used as a protective element between two environments and their impact on the passage of visible light is neutral.

 

 

BK7 Windows  

 

Our BK7 windows are available with a high parallelism of 10 arc seconds, ideal for applications requiring minimal transmitted beam deviation.

These optical windows are precision manufactured using UV - grade synthetic fused silica. In addition to superior transmission characteristics, synthetic fused silica exhibits better thermal properties, exceptional purity, and excellent environmental durability for demanding applications.

Sapphire Windows   

 

For the most demanding applications, sapphire is the obvious choice. This material is extremely hard and chemically inert, so it can be cleaned repeatedly with little danger of damage. Sapphire has excellent thermal properties and can withstand temperatures above 1500°C. Furthermore, sapphire transmits from the near UV to the mid IR.

 

Too expensive? Sapphire windows cost only about 50% more than similar fused silica windows for diameters up to 20 mm.
